The Virginia Aviation Business Association held its annual Aviation, Aerospace and Advanced Air Mobility Legislative Reception February 7 at Main Street Station in Richmond.

More than 700 guests from across the Commonwealth came to participate in one of the largest legislative reception events during General Assembly session. Industry leaders including NASA, the Virginia Department of Aviation, the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation, SAIC, Virginia Spaceport Authority and many more presented exhibits at the event. The legislative reception was attended by Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears, members of the Governor’s cabinet, legislators and their staffers.

The DOAV Public Relations and Education team of Betty Wilson, David Halstead, Tony Sotelo and Kim Anderson staffed the DOAV exhibit and answered questions from attendees about the department and its mission. They provided guests with the 2024 aviation calendar as well as scholarship information and other giveaways.
