Danville Airport Open House and Free Flights

On Saturday, April 29, 2023 the Danville Regional Airport held an Airport Open House and Free Fly Day. A total of 78 students, ages 8 to 17 completed plane rides. The airport also completed tours of the Civil Air Patrol Building, the newly renovated Terminal Building and the Operations Advisory Tower. Other Open House activities included the Danville Science Center’s Starlab exhibit, which was a big hit with the kids. Airplane rides were scheduled to begin at 10 am but due to IFR overcast conditions flight activity could not begin until noon. Despite the delay, as the attached images attest, there were a lot of happy children at the airport on Saturday.
