Visit the DOAV at Sun 'n Fun
All Virginians that are lucky enough to fly, drive, walk, or run to Sun n’ Fun in Florida are eligible to receive their “Fly-In” stamp for the Aviation Ambassador Program. All you need to do is find the Virginia Department of Aviation’s (DOAV) white event trailer to get the stamp in your passport.
The Virginia Aviation Ambassador Program by the DOAV endeavors people to visit the aviation sites of Virginia and get stamps in their “passport” to authenticate it. If you travel to all 65 public -use airports, visit at least four aviation museums, attend a fly-in, and complete a safety seminar you reach “Gold Level”, and are given a fitted, customized, leather flight jacket from the DOAV.
All you need to participate is a DOAV ambassador passport. These can be found at most public-use airports or by contacting anthony.sotelo@doav.virginia.gov.
