From the ICON A-5 Aviation Mobile Classroom to photo contests and educator awards, DOAV programs bring Virginia’s aviation community to students, teachers, and families across the Commonwealth.

If there’s a road, the DOAV can bring an aircraft to your community! The ICON A5 is the perfect vehicle for promoting STEM, workforce development, and hands-on learning. Our flexible educators offer programs for every age group and event, at no cost to hosts.

The Virginia Aviation Photo contest takes place each year and offers photographers and pilots the opportunity to show off their best aircraft pictures. Aerial photos highlighting Virginia’s lovely scenic areas as seen from the sky may be entered. Photos taken with drones will also be accepted. Winning entries may be featured in DOAV’s annual aviation calendar and social media.

The Aviation Educator of the Year award, part of the Virginia Aviation Awards, honors an educator who brings aviation and STEM to life for students. Follow the link to learn more about the award and the most recent recipient.

The program is free to Virginia schools and educational groups, and every presentation is customized to your audience.
