Next (Event Agreement)By submitting this form, you agree to the terms below: The ICON A5: Introduction to Flight Program requires good weather (no precipitation, no ice on the roads, no extreme winds, etc.) to transport the aircraft and present the program. The ICON Team will monitor the forecast weather in the days leading up to the visit and will notify the planning contact if inclement weather is a possibility so that alternate arrangements may be made. The parking area for the ICON/van or event trailer must be a flat paved area at least 55 ft. x 40 ft. There must be at least one (1) chaperone per twenty (20) students. Soft-soled shoes or similar are required to be worn by individuals who intend to sit in the aircraft. The maximum weight per person allowed in the ICON must be no more than 250 lbs. The DOAV Hangar Tours will require requestor to submit a manifest of attendees, affiliated organization, and vehicle information (Make, Model, License Plate). By participating in this event or activity, you authorize the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) to take and use visual/audio images of your child, students, and/or you. Visual/audio images are any type of recording, including photographs, digital images, drawings, rendering, voice, sounds, video recordings, audio clips, accompanying written descriptions, and/or any other type of media now or hereafter known. DOAV may use and/or authorize the use of said video/audio images in any manner or media without notifying me - such as but not limited to the DOAV website, publications, presentations, promotional materials, social media, and other marketing platforms. Plentl Sr. Aviation Scholarship Application Form Eligibility & Requirements: The Willard G. Plentl Aviation Scholarship, in the amount of $3,000, will be awarded to a Virginia High School senior who is planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area. A certification of acceptance into a non-engineering, aviation-related postsecondary education program is required. Scholarship applicants must have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5. One scholarship will be awarded each year and is renewable. Examples of non-engineering aviation careers include but are not limited to pilots, aviation maintenance technicians, aviation managers, etc. To complete this application you will need to upload the following: personal statement official high school transcript college acceptance letter or other verification of enrollment up to 3 letters of recommendation high school resume/brag sheet *This application does NOT autosave progress prior to submission.
