To highlight aviation’s contribution to the Commonwealth’s economy, the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) launched the Virginia Airport System Economic Impact Study, which quantifies the statewide economic value of airports and provides data-driven insights for residents, businesses, visitors, and key stakeholders—helping airport sponsors, legislators, and community leaders advocate for future support and investment.
