Governor Ralph Northam today announced that DroneUp, a web and mobile platform for on-demand drone pilot services, will invest $130,000 to expand its headquarters operation in Virginia Beach. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the project, which will create 41 new jobs.

A series of six Women Can Fly events will take place across the Commonwealth of Virginia this year. Attendance is free but participants are encouraged to preregister.

2019 Transportation Day
The Virginia Department of Aviation celebrated Transportation Day on Thursday, May 23, 2019. To express our gratitude to our fellow transportation workers at Richmond International Airport, Department of Aviation staff delivered cupcakes to TSA agents and American Airlines staff at the airline terminal as well as Richmond International Airport firefighters.
