DOAV Seeks High School Seniors for Scholarships

The Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) and our partners, the Virginia Airport Operators Council (VAOC), are seeking high school seniors to apply for three aviation scholarships coordinated by the agency. The awards range in amount from $2,500 - $3,000 and are open to Virginia students accepted into aviation programs who have at least an unweighted GPA of 3.5. The deadline to apply for all scholarships is March 3, 2023.

  1. Willard G. Plentl Sr. Aviation Scholarship Program: Is awarded in the amount of $2,500 to a Virginia High School senior who is planning an aviation career in a non-engineering area.

 

  1. John R. Lillard Foundation Aviation Scholarship Program: Is awarded to a Virginia high school senior having at least a 3.50 unweighted GPA, are planning a career in the field of aviation, and must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college.

 

  1. Kenneth R. Scott Aviation Scholarship: Is awarded to a Virginia high school senior having at least a 3.50 unweighted GPA, are planning a career in the field of aviation, and must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college.
