Charlottesville Aviation Luncheon Club Holds Monthly Meetings

The Charlottesville Aviation Luncheon club (CALClub) holds monthly meetings open to anyone interested in learning about and sharing stories related to aviation.

A group of 60-70 aviation oriented people from across Virginia travel to the Blue Ridge Cafe in Ruckersville every month for lunch and to listen to a speaker who shares their involvement in aeronautical related activities. Many members of the club are former military pilots, government program managers and general officers. Some also have past airline experience or are currently flying with the airlines.

Past speakers have included a former Navy Blue Angel pilot who spoke about Naval Aviation in the 21st Century and two projects managers from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. In addition, speakers have shared stories of pylon racing at the National Championship air races in Reno and the restoration of the Enola Gay.

Meetings are usually held the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19. People interested in joining can reach out to David Hilty at Davidahilty@comcast.net or call (434) 328-2323.
