National Human Trafficking Prevention Month
In recognition of National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, an informational event on the Blue Lightning Initiative (BLI) will be held on January 13th at 2:00pm EST. During the webinars, attendees will hear about the benefits of partnering with BLI and learn more about recognizing and responding to human trafficking.
Our panel features speakers from Homeland Securities Investigations (HSI), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and a survivor of trafficking whose experience intersected with the aviation industry. To learn more about the program, visit the Blue Campaign website. or email email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
BLI is led by DOT and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and is an element of the DHS Blue Campaign. BLI trains airline personnel to identify potential traffickers and human trafficking victims, and to report their suspicions to federal law enforcement. To date, more than 200,000 personnel in the aviation industry have been trained through BLI, and actionable tips continue to be reported to law enforcement. Over 84 aviation industry organizations have partnered with BLI to combat human trafficking.
