DOAV’s 2021 Photo Contest Winners Selected
This year the annual photo contest entries showed an immense variety of aviation activities that take place across the Commonwealth.
The Virginia Department of Aviation is proud to announce the top 10 winners of the annual aviation photo contest.

Second Place: Alex Hrapunov from Goldvein, VA.
Third Place: Edward Cake from Roanoke, VA.
Fourth Place: Alex Hrapunov from Goldvein, VA.
Fifth Place: Alex Hrapunov from Goldvein, VA.
Sixth Place: Nancy Lewis from Deltaville, VA.
Seventh Place: Amy Wells from Mechanicsville, VA.
Eighth Place: Bonnie Jones from Winchester, VA.
Ninth Place: Nancy Lewis from Deltaville, VA.
Tenth Place: Edward Cake from Roanoke, VA.
All entries were judged by DOAV staff that have extensive art and aviation backgrounds, and provided a good assortment of pictures from which to choose.
Thank you to everyone who participated as it is always refreshing to see pictures that pilots and/or photographers get while traveling across the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia.
The winning photographs will be featured on social media and in the Virginia Department of Aviation’s annual calendar, which will be available for request in February 2022.
