Virginia Fly Over to Salute Healthcare Workers

Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) is honored to partner with the F-22 Raptor Demo Team, the 1st Fighter Wing, and the 192nd Wing of the Virginia National Guard, as the Demo Team will perform a flyover of the Hampton Roads/Virginia Peninsula on Tuesday, May 12th, from 6:30PM – 7:00PM EST. This flyover will be flown at an altitude of 1000ft and will feature a unique 3-ship Heritage Flight Formation that includes two P-51 Mustangs of the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation alongside an F-22 Raptor flown by Maj. Josh 'Cabo' Gunderson, F-22 Demo Team commander.

Inspired by the #AFSalutes initiative, the flyover is intended to provide a salute to all the healthcare professionals, frontline responders, and essential personnel working to keep everyone safe and healthy during the fight against COVID-19.

Virginia residents should watch the flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine and should refrain from traveling to see the flyover. Social distancing should be maintained at all times.
