Video tribute to end of World War II premieres May 8

When the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the Arsenal of Democracy Victory Fly-Over from May 8 to Sept. 26, organizers still wanted to commemorate the day.

A video tribute will instead premiere at 11:30 a.m. (EST) May 8. Written and produced by award-winning broadcast journalist David Hartman and renowned aviation production expert Scott Guyette of Sleeping Dog Productions, the video will include interviews with U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Charles McGee, U.S. Air Force Colonel Bud Anderson, “Rosie the Riveter” Connie Palacioz and many more.

It will also include historical battle footage and current day footage of aircraft involved in World War II European theater battles, provided courtesy of EAA Warbirds of America’s “Warbirds in Review.”

This special production is being made possible, in part, by the support and participation of the Bob and Dolores Hope Foundation and the Friends of the National World War II Memorial.
