Tangier Island Asks Pilots Not to Visit

Tangier Island, in the Chesapeake Bay, has asked pilots not to visit during the COVID-19 crisis.  The isolated island has not had any documented exposure to the coronovirus yet and residents hope to remain healthy by discouraging unnecesary visits for the time being.

The small island is accessible by air or by boat and it is a popular location for pilots to stop and have a delicious seafood meal.  During this emergency; however, pilots are being asked to forgo the trip and wait until a better time to visit the island.
