Large Aircraft Manufacturing Halted in the South

Boeing has ceased manufacturing at its 787 plant in South Carolina, and Airbus has done the same with its A220 and A330 plant in Alabama.

Boeing’s initial shutdown of its Washington state operations was planned for two weeks, but has now been extended indefinitely.  Workers at both Boeing plants who can telework are doing so.  Those who can’t are being paid for two weeks.

At the Airbus facility in Mobile, workers who can telework are being required to do so.  Employees who can’t telework are being paid for the three weeks the shutdown is in place.
