Delta Suspends Operations at Newport News/Williamsburg
Beginning Wednesday, May 13, Delta Air Lines will temporarily suspend all air services at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. The suspension will remain in effect until at least Sept. 30, 2020.
Due to the drop in demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline is consolidating operations in 10 markets where there are multiple airports available to serve its customers. Delta has decided to provide service from Norfolk International Airport during the temporary suspension.
Prior to the pandemic, Delta flew three flights a day to Atlanta’s Hartfield-Jackson International Airport. This leaves American Airlines as the sole air carrier flying out of Newport News/Williamsburg.
