Business Jet Owners Not Eager to Sell

While air travel is down more than 90 percent and major shareholders are liquidating their airline stock portfolios due to the COVID-19 pandemic, owners of business jets are, for now, holding onto their aircraft and not putting them up for sale.

Brian Foley, a contributing aerospace and defense writer for Forbes magazine, says that “despite the crazy economic gyrations that would normally spook” owners into selling, the number of business jets on the used market have remained steady.  He believes that business jet owners are looking beyond the existing environment to a presumably brighter future – like what existed before the pandemic – as well as being able to travel more safely with a small number of colleagues rather than being “in an airliner with multitudes of strangers.”
