Hot Air Balloon Launches to Take Place at the Flying Circus

Each year the Flying Circus Airshow hosts a Balloon Festival, but this year some things have changed due to the pandemic. There are additional safety measures put in place as well as social distancing measures to comply with state law, and to help ensure the health and safety of guests, staff, and performers.

The event is limited to a maximum of 1,000 attendees each day and the gates open at 7am on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday October 4. They request that you bring your own chairs and take advantage of the wide open spaces available to spread out and avoid crowding others.

Masks are required to be worn inside all facilities (including restrooms).

Anyone purchasing an aircraft ride will be required to complete a COVID health screen (including temperature check) before being issued a ride ticket.

Passengers purchasing rides in any of the aircraft (or in any balloon) will be required to wear a mask from the time they enter the ride hopping gate, until they return to the gate at the end of their ride.

All aircraft passenger compartments will be wiped down between rides.

Balloon launches can begin as early as 7:30am (winds/weather permitting), and the airshows this weekend start an hour earlier at 1:30pm. They hope to have some Balloon launches in the late afternoon as well, depending on the winds, around 5pm. The Flying Circus Aerodrome is located at 5114 Ritchie Rd, Bealeton, VA 22712.
