Garmin is Victim of Cyberattack

Garmin, a navigation company whose services are used by many pilots, was hit by, what Forbes reports, is a ransomware attack this past Thursday.  Pilots have been unable to use Garmin’s web-based planning tools, including flyGarmin and FltPlan.com. In addition, database update downloads cannot be made. The company’s fitness tracking website and call centers are also affected.

Garmin’s website is running a message advising that they are currently experiencing an outage that affects Garmin.com and Garmin Connect and that they are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
