Aviation Mini Camps at the Military Aviation Museum

The Military Aviation Museum, in Virginia Beach, is offering 4 mini-camp activities selected from their Warbird Summer Camp.

Half Day Mini Camps are for campers entering 5th - 10th grade. Each day has two different topics for two different age groups... so join us for one, or both! Each session is $40.00 for members and $50.00 for non-members.

3rd - 5th Grade: Taking Flight with the Wright Brothers

9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Take a journey back in time and discover the science of flight, just like Orville and Wilbur did. Learn about the forces acting on aircraft, build and test balsa wood gliders, learn how propellers work, and more!

6th - 10th Grade: First In Flight

1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Celebrate the first powered flight by following in the footsteps of the Wright Brothers! Campers will explore the four forces of flight and learn how Orville and Wilbur took to the skies by constructing and testing their very own model Wright Kites.

3rd - 5th Grade: Ace Pilots

9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Aspiring aviators will take to the skies... virtually, of course! Explore the forces of flight with hands-on activities, sit in the cockpit of one of our warbirds to understand how flight controls work, and put their flying skills to the test on our flight simulators!

6th - 10th Grade: Aviate and Navigate

1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Do you have what it takes to be a warbird pilot? Find out in this simulator based program. Learn how the flight controls work in the cockpit of one of our warbirds, master the basics of flight on our simulators, and learn the basics of aviation navigation!
