2019 Transportation Day

The Virginia Department of Aviation celebrated Transportation Day on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  This event, established by legislation passed during the 2018 session of the Virginia General Assembly, designates the Thursday before Memorial Day as a day to show appreciation for Virginia’s transportation employees who create and maintain a network that connects Virginians to jobs, healthcare, and opportunity and serves as the platform for Virginia’s economy.

To express our gratitude to our fellow transportation workers at Richmond International Airport, Department of Aviation staff delivered cupcakes to TSA agents and American Airlines staff at the airline terminal as well as to Richmond International Airport firefighters.
