2019 Aviation Art Contest Winners

The Virginia Department of Aviation is pleased to announce that Rachel Ji of McLean, Virginia, is the Second Place winner in her age group in the United States level of the International Aviation Art Contest.  The theme for 2019 was “My Dream to Fly.”

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) Young Artists Contest invites countries from around the world to run their own contests for young people and submit their winning artwork for international judging.  Winning artwork from state contests in the United States are submitted to the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) for national judging.  Winners then progress to the international contest.  Virginia has been very fortunate to have some international winners over the years.

Third Place – Sarah Y. Li, McLean

First Place – Larina Yu, Ashburn
Second Place – Claire Wang, Great Falls
Third Place – Anya Huang, Great Falls

Category 3 (Date of birth between 1 Janu­ary 2001 and 31 December 2004)   )

First Place – Andrew Park, Broadlands
Second Place – Jalkah Fierro, Virginia Beach
Third Place – Andrea Yao, McLean

The theme for the 2020 Aviation Art Contest is “Flying Yesterday and Tomorrow.”
