Manassas Airshow will take place at Manassas Regional Airport from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Airshow performers including Scott Francis, Chefpitts Airshows, RJ Gritter, Andrew McKenna and the P51 Mustang, US Air Force Heritage Flight, Warrior Aviation Flight Team, The Flying Circus Wingwalkers, Bealeton Flying Circus, Hobby Hangar R/C Aircraft Demonstrations and the 3rd Dimension Parachute Team. A seminar on safely flying into an airport with a fly-in taking place will begin at 1:00 p.m. Department of Aviation Director Mark Flynn will then make some remarks. Operation Cow Drop will take place at Hanover County Airport from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sponsored by Chick-fil-A, it includes a wide variety of family friendly entertainment activities that culminate with the Cow Drop. Culpeper Airport Annual Air Fest will take place at Culpeper Regional Airport from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The 20th annual Air Fest will include buddy-boxing with the Culpeper Barnstomers and their model airplanes, a STEM event hosted by Women in Aviation for young girls, a classic car display and plenty of food vendors. Full scale airraft start flying at noon and finish up around 4:00 p.m. Parking shuttles are available all day and handicapped parking is available at the airport. Ongoing Events

Pancake Breakfast at Franklin Municipal Airport (FKN) takes place on the fourth Saturday of each month except December.  Sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force’s Old Dominion Squadron and EAA Chapter 339, each pancake breakfast takes place in the Old Dominion Squadron’s hangar from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.  The cost per person is a $7.00 donation.  For more information, e-mail: OldDominionSquadron@yahoo.com

Fly-In 2010 at Twin County Airport (KHLX) will take place the second Saturday of every month April through October. Everyone is welcome for food, drinks, and fellowship. World War II Veterans Honor Flights via DCA Air Carriers take place each Saturday and Wednesday April-May and Sept.-Oct. from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Terminals A, B, & C. Sponsored by US Airways, AAL, Delta, and Air Tran. Between 100-450 WWII veterans are flown to DCA via charters from various east coast airports to visit the WWII Memorial on the Mall in Washington, DC. Numerous air carriers fly-in vets on chartered flights while other passengers warmly cheer and welcome them back to DCA. 7700+ WWII vets flew into DCA on 64 charter flights during 2009.

National Capitol Squadron (NCS) of Culpeper, Virginia holds a hangar open house on the second Saturday of each month. The NCS is a division of the Commemorative Air Force and is focused on World War II aircraft and honoring past and present veterans and more specifically the aviation history of the 1940's.
