Virginia Aviation Photography Contest
Do you have photos from when you flew over Virginia’s mountains, beaches or other scenic locations? Do you have an awesome vintage or modern aircraft photo you want to share? Well, the Virginia Department of Aviation’s annual photo contest offers you the opportunity to submit those photos and get the chance to be featured in the annual aviation calendar and on social media.
The annual Virginia aviation photo contest will take place this year and will focus on the aircraft category to allow photographers and pilots to show off their best aircraft pictures over the years. Aerial photos are also requested to continue to highlight Virginia’s lovely scenic areas from the sky. Photographs taken with drones will also be accepted.
Twelve submissions are allowed from each photographer, the photographs must have been taken in Virginia and have not been previously published. The photographs must be at least 300 ppi. Entry forms can be found on our website and all entries can be emailed to doavphotocontest@gmail.com or sent to the agency by mail. The deadline for all submissions is August 4, 2024.

Reproduction Rights
Photos submitted to the contest may be used by the Virginia Department of Aviation to promote aviation in Virginia. All entries become and remain the property of the Virginia Department of Aviation and may be used without permission or credit.
How to Submit Entries
Only digital entries will be accepted. Photos should be taken at the highest resolution possible (minimum 300 ppi or 3MB). The preferred format is .jpg. A completed entry form and model release (if needed) should be submitted with each photo. Email entries and form to doavphotocontest@gmail.com.
